We are living in extremely challenging times dominated by rapid changes in technology. Its application in delivery of higher education has brought about far reaching positive changes as far as quality and productivity are concerned. Even in the Covid-19 times, technology has come to our aid to continue the tradition of teaching-learning essentially because of availability of connected devices such as smart phones, computers, tablets, etc. Internet Of Things (IOT) enables us to connect anything and everything that we see around us such as home appliances, vehicles, lamp-posts, personal accessories, industrial equipments and many more. Internet of Things is an attempt to connect objects to the internet and also to each other. It provides a platform to analyze data from different sources in real-time and take essential actions in an intelligent fashion.

In such a scenario, it is important to enrol in programmes such as PG Diploma in IOT as most jobs in future shall be available in here. For this reason, UMU, one of the best Universities of Jharkhand planned to put PGDIOT on offer. This programme is study of the most recent microcontrollers with application development, product design and prototyping. In fact, Internet of Things (IOT) is the wave of future. It facilitates a network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators and connectivity which enables these things to connect and exchange data.

Particular mention may be made of Home Automation, Vehicle Automation, Security & Monitoring, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Energy Management, Governance, Healthcare, Transportation and Architecture. The Jobs for IOT professionals shall be available as System Design Engineer, IOT Software Develop, IOT Product Manager, IoT Solution Architect, IOT Research Developer and FP&A IOT Service Manager, to mention some. It goes without saying that the quality of jobs and associated pay packets shall be very handsome.
